Rebate amounts depend on the type of consultation and your medicare eligibility. The maximum Medicare rebate currently available is $84.90. Medicare rebates apply to Hazel GP appointments and may also be available for psychology and dietetics services with the appropriate referral and care plan. If you are referred by your GP, Hazel can work with them to ensure the necessary paperwork is in place. Many private health insurers also provide rebates for telehealth services — we recommend checking with your insurer to confirm. If you have any questions, our care team is here to help.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

What conditions and symptoms does Hazel treat and support?

Hazel provides comprehensive care for women’s health, offering a holistic approach that addresses both physical and emotional wellbeing. Our Hazel medical services offer personalised support for gynaecological, sexual, and menstrual health, chronic pelvic pain, and offer conventional and natural treatment options, including endocannabinoid medicine.

Our psychology services provide therapy for trauma, mood disorders, and anxiety in a safe, stigma-free environment. For intimacy, pleasure, and sexual anxiety concerns, our sexologists specialise in treating conditions like painful sex and vaginismus.

Our naturopaths offer guidance on nutrition, herbal remedies, and lifestyle changes, supporting overall health. Additionally, we provide convenient pharmacy delivery, ensuring prescriptions and supplements are delivered directly to your door.

How does Hazel provide effective treatment through telehealth for conditions that are traditionally managed in person?

Hazel follows strict clinical care guidelines to deliver safe and effective treatment via telehealth. Many conditions can be assessed and treated remotely; however, for cases requiring in-person care — such as diagnostic tests, blood work, or scans — Hazel can assist in arranging these tests and ensuring all necessary information is gathered for effective treatment.

Does Hazel replace my GP?

Hazel doesn’t replace your GP — instead, we’re a specialist service that complements your existing care team, whether that’s a GP, allied health professionals, or other medical specialists. Having a regular GP is ideal for comprehensive healthcare, and if you don’t have one, we can help you find a GP to support your ongoing needs.

What’s included in a Hazel care plan?

A personalised care plan at Hazel can include a combination of prescriptions, supplements, lifestyle and nutrition recommendations, and specialist referrals. Our goal is to address your health from all angles, ensuring you have the tools and support you need to help you feel better, faster.

Can I claim Hazel services through Medicare or private health insurance?

It depends on your health insurance provider and policy. Some funds offer rebates for services like psychology or naturopathy, so it’s a good idea to check with your insurer to see if you're eligible. Hazel does not process insurance claims directly, but we can provide you with invoices for you to submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
