What if I need to go to the bathroom afterward?

Try to empty your bladder and bowels before inserting the suppository — this helps prevent it being accidentally expelled.

For vaginal use, urinating and having a bowel movement before insertion can reduce the chance of expulsion.

If you have a bowel movement within 10 minutes, insert a new suppository. If you have a bowel movement after 15 minutes, do not reinsert the suppository — it’s safer to have some loss than to risk doubling the dose.
